1-0 to the Arsenal

Yet another memorable Champions League night. Yet another clean sheet. What an amazing way to bid farewell to Highbury, although another goal would have left me a bit more satisfied. Anyway got to make do with what we have. So hopefully it will be a typical Arsenal performance at the El Madrigal next week and I just hope Milan turn around things at Camp Nou. I hate the thought of Ronaldinho and Messi having a go at Senderos and Toure. And of course, there is a small matter of a bus ride across the city . Its time to flood the Lane and bring down their silly dreams of playing Champions League football next season.

Double, double, double
Sol Campbell has won the double
And the c*nts down the Lane
Have won f*ck all again
And Sol Campbell has won the double.

Final sem blues

Playing footer in the quadrangle is usually a no-brainer. Just 2 hours of fun. But today it was a bit different. We had an alumnus among us. It was Sada, as usual showing off his football skills! With another month to go to the grand finale ,the final end-sems which I will be writing in my IIT life (hopefully!), it is a stark reminder that I am on the cusp of being on the other end playing with Sada, of course not as good as him. It only seems like yesterday when I first entered the campus when the first thing I find is a room with a broken bed and dirty bathrooms. They are still the same but there is a different vibe about it. It was not too long ago when I was welcomed to the paradise that was the hostel life by none other than Gabbar, as the name quite rightly sums up the person. Of course all this was happening in my previous hostel, Jamuna. After the small matter of reshuffling, life has moved on and so did the hostel loyalties. There were days of mindless shouting and screaming during an inter-hostel match when we come back to rooms with a dry and broken voice, but that would have been the last of our concerns. How could one forget the innumerable fart sessions in the wing which would eventually end with throwing a particular senior in the dustbin. Those were glorious moments which will be cherished.

As most seniors would have cried out as loud as the P.A systems in our hostel, IIT life has and will be the most memorable aspect of our life. It is the one period of our life when we can look back and be sure that we cannot have that elsewhere. Be it Stanford or McKinsey. IIT has its own drawbacks but what doesn’t. It is all about working around it and IIT teaches it best.

P.S: I tried not writing a senti article but it was too hard to resist :)
